Fourth Grade is a great year of learning and fun! Kids are becoming more independent and are so excited about learning new things! Enthusiasm is the key to fourth graders! They especially love learning about the natural world in science, and they love music, coding computers, and playing games in PE. Fourth graders get really absorbed in books, and in writing, they are excited to share the stories they’ve written with their friends.
I have a BA in English from the University of Washington. I’ve taught fourth grade, fourth/fifth multi-age classes and straight fifth grade. all here at Marshall. I also taught sixth grade in middle school. Now I’m back at Marshall in my sweet spot–fourth grade!
My daughter is a fourth-grade teacher, too. She works next door to her fifth-grade teacher husband! I have a seven-year-old granddaughter who attends their school, and a sweet little one-year-old granddaughter.
I love to be outdoors–bike riding, playing tennis, hiking, cross country skiing, kayaking, and playing golf!
